Wickedforeign is back…plus one!

Plus one
The newest addition to the wickedforeign family arrived on January 31st. After nearly delivering 6 weeks early due to my splendid accident, our little lady ended up being 8 days late. The last 3 months have been a blur of managing a toddler under 2 and a newborn, combating illness after illness (including no fewer than 7 bouts of conjunctivitis and a whooping-cough scare), and remembering what it’s like to never sleep…ever!
I’m happy to say that I’m back, the weather is looking up, and we are ready to hit the road again…plus one! I have no idea what traveling with a toddler and infant will be like but I imagine organization will be key, mixed with a heavy dose of patience and a bottle of wine.
For the foreseeable future, wickedforeign will be relegated to the boundaries of Switzerland. Having a baby abroad requires a substantial amount of paperwork in order to obtain a passport for the child. Until we get her U.S. passport, we are literally unable to leave the country with her. Truth be told, Switzerland is not a bad country to be ‘stuck’ in.
Finally, a big ‘thank you’ to everyone who has sent me messages since my accident. My scars have healed tremendously but are still quite apparent. My son points to my forehead now and says “Mama boo boo”. The nerve damage has mostly healed so the majority of the pain on the side of my head is gone. While I’m still a bit nervous to walk up steep hills alone, I am basically back to normal.
I can’t wait to see where the road takes us next!
